Getting Started with Quarvik

Welcome to Quarvik — Emergent Information. This page will help you get up and running quickly. Watch the introductory video below, then follow the written guide to build your first Universe.

What is a Universe?

A Universe is your Quarvik file — a self-contained collection of connected information. Think of it as your personal knowledge base. You can have multiple Universes for different projects, clients, or domains.

What is an Entry?

An Entry is anything you want to track — a company, a person, a project, an event, a concept, a location. Each Entry has Components (its properties and data fields) and Relationships (its connections to other Entries).

Your first steps

  1. 1Create a new Universe from the File menu
  2. 2Add your first Entry — give it a name and any Components you want to track
  3. 3Add a second Entry
  4. 4Connect them with a Relationship — Quarvik automatically creates the reverse relationship in the connected Entry
  5. 5Keep adding Entries and Relationships — your information network builds itself as you go

The four relationship types

Custom A named relationship between two Entries — for example, "owns 40% of" or "reports to"
Explode One Entry branches into many — for example, a company and its divisions
Implode Many Entries converge into one — the inverse of Explode
Flat-Track Peer Entries at the same level — for example, divisions within the same company
